Über den Künstler und sein Werk
Carlo Antonio Fortis Radierung von ca. 1690 wurde für L’Età dell’Oro entworfen. Allegorische Figuren bevölkern eine spektakuläre, zwischen Wolken und barocker Architektur schwebende Treppe; die Fülle thront oben, während eine Flussgöttin und eine Stadtlandschaft die untere Szene verankern. Es ist Architektur, die explizit für eine fiktive Bühnenwelt konzipiert wurde.

Originalwerk von Carlo Antonio Forti, im Besitz des Metropolitan Museum of Art. Das Werk wird im Rahmen des Open-Access-Programms des Metropolitan Museum of Art als gemeinfrei zur Verfügung gestellt. Dieser Druck wird im Rahmen des Kunstprojekts Museum of Imagined Worlds erstellt.
