About the artist & work
View of Ponte Lugano on the Anio, from Views of Rome by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Italian, 1720-1778) published by Francesco (Italian, 1758-1810) and Pietro Piranesi (Italian, born 1758/9) (1763, published 1800–07). Medium: Etching on heavy ivory laid paper. Its sense of place and finely observed detail make it a thoughtful focal point for a study, reading room, or gallery wall.
