Why we chose it
A library interior is never only a room: it is a record of what a culture chose to keep. We curated this view for the shelves, measured architecture, and sense of quiet concentration. It gives a study, reading room, or hallway a clear point of view without relying on visual noise.
About the artist & work
Library of Winchester College by Frederick MacKenzie English, born Scotland, 1787-1854 (c. 1816). Medium: Watercolor, with touches of gouache, heightened with white gouache, over graphite, on cream wove paper.
