Why we chose it
What drew us in was the discipline of the composition: the plant is carefully observed, but the page still has atmosphere. We chose it for a room that wants colour with structure—over a desk, beside a reading chair, or as part of a collected wall.
About the artist & work
The Botanical Magazine or Flower Garden Displayed: White Cape - Coast Lily by Sydenham Edwards (British, 1768–1819) (1806). Medium: engraving, hand-colored. Its botanical detail and historical character make it a thoughtful focal point for a study, bedroom, or collected gallery wall.
